Big I Tri-County Oktoberfest 2024

10/8/24
Plattduetsche Park Biergarten

Connection & Raising Money for a Great Cause

Another fantastic Oktoberfest at Plattduetsche Biergarten. More than 125 agents, company representatives, and industry friends came out on a beautiful fall evening to network and support a great cause. Proceeds from Oktoberfest support the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk, which raises money for breast cancer research and advocacy. Our friend Jeanne Abatelli participates in this walk every year.

Everyone enjoyed a delicious buffet and drinks. Many participated in the famous 50/50 Ribbon Board and tried their luck to win a Solo Stove Bonfire Essential Bundle. James Bastian won $1,000 from the 50/50 Ribbon Board and donated his prize to the 3-Day Walk; Ed Taylor took home the Solo Stove® Mesa Tabletop Fire Pit.

A Night of Celebration

About 100 people kept the Cinco de Mayo celebrations going on May 6th at K. Pacho in New Hyde Park. Agents, company friends, and insurance partners came together to network and honor one another.

The 2024-2025 Big I Tri-County Board of Directors was installed with Bob Bleistein of Eastern Classic Coverage continuing in his role as President, and joining the board to serve his first term was Peter Conte of Honig Conte Porrino Insurance Agency.

As is tradition at this event, the board recognized five longtime Tri-County members:

Selective Associates - Member since 1962

Petrocelli Group Company - Member since 1960

Newbridge Coverage - Member since 1962

David J. Jacobs - Member since 1962

Carlstan North Hills Agency - Member since 1952

Big I Tri-County is proud to sponsor two scholarships for high school seniors. The 2024 recipient of the Stephen Dooley Community Service Scholarship is Mia Biazon from Baldwin High School. Aaron Raja from The Wheatley School in Old Westbury is recipient of the Joel Pollack Scholarship.

Everyone enjoyed dinner, dessert, and drinks. Matt Parmiter of RVC Insurance agency took home $750 cash from the 50/50 board with the other half donated to the scholarship fund.

Thank you to our sponsors for their generous support!
